I got to work today and one of our Directors who lives in Rowland complained about a land slide on the green lane from the village "caused by 4X4's" not by excessive rainfall!
I do not know if this is a legal right of way but I was looking on the internet for information on volentary restraint notice I noticed Derbyshire County Council is in contact with GLASS.
Three questions.
1. Do we as a club have any way to record damage on green lanes?
2. Would it be beneficial for the club to help in the repair of ROW's?
3. Do we have any more information on the DCC ROWIP?

Hi Mongrel
Dose your Boss have any evidence that the damage is caused by 4x4s,
as there are a lot of old mines and quarys above Rowland that will be holding a lot of water and mud. Don't forget the mud slide over the hill in Stoney Middelton last year that cut off the village for a few days.
As to your questions
1. Not that I am aware of. I would have thought it is a job of the green lane coordinators !!
2. Yes their has been a lot of offers to help repair lanes not just from the club.
3. Possibly not anothe task for the green lane coordinators!!
Cant say I have seen you out on any club laning days? |
