Stanage edge is closed as ofMay 7th. It is now impassable at Dennis Knoll end SK226 844 due to the track being washed away. This has been passed on from the Peak Park Ranger and he has informed DCC higways regarding a repair and putting signs up re closure.

I've been there today, there is no signs from the other end.
When you get to the bottom there is a real big hole. I'm 99% sure its a man made one to be honest. Its about 6ft deep and full of silt! Just like a pudding!
There is a road closed sign at the bottom though, I got stuck behind some fools in jeeps and L200's etc. half way down and sat for about an hour for them to get un-stuck and let me past! |

One reason that there is only one sign is that the top is in sheffield and the bottom were the hole is in derbyshire. you dont expect councils to speak to each other do you!!
