AllisportI've just given my TDI 300 Disco a bit of a boost.
In July i pulled the inlet manifold off to discover a vast sludgy mess, i duly cleaned it as good as poss before re-fit. I then disposed of the EGR valve and nipped the pump up a tad.
On Saturday i fitted a de-cat front pipe which has made a world of difference, then today, i went daft and fitted the full size 'ALLISPORT' intercooler.
I've just been out in it and it pulls very well, much better than it ever did before. Next job is a better filter and an oil change with a good quality item.

Fuelling and boost you may be able turn the on boost fuelling up even more if you run more turbo boost. You will be able to do this now you have a bigger intercooler as fitting one of these usually drops the boost pressure before it finally gets to the inlet manifold. A K&N filter will give the feeling of a sharper "throttle" response for want of a better expression. Did you alter the off boost fuelling as well as the on boost fuelling??
cheers

I simply followed the instructions with the cooler, after fitting the intercooler i removed the diaphragm in the top of the pump and turned the needle around (it's stepped at the base). It now pulls cleanly, if i'm in 4th or 5th at 30mph it will pull away without any hassle. I can now hear the turbo spinning up too, it was muted and strangled before this work.
I'd highly reccomend it to any TDI owners, for little outlay it will transform the vehicle.
I've altered my front grille too, i have drilled a series of holes in the horizontal latts similar to the RR sport.
Hardest job was on the whole mod was refitting the grille (only because my bumper is bent slightly). 2 hrs at most to complete.
The whole job stands me at £300

Also replaced the air filter with a standard item and changed the oil....now running on 'DX' semi sympathetic.
Next job is replace both bumpers in the next few weeks.
Front one was squashed when a Pug 106 decided to race me across a give way and lost
Rear was bent the next day when my blind neighbour reversed his Toyota pickup into it whilst it was parked up.
I'm having a tube winch type front bumper with 'A' bar and a standard rear.
A very mild 1" lift with new springs & shocks will follow in the new year.

LOL yes it was more than the Rangie, however, i did spend a whopping £60 on the tyres and £70 on the bash plate.
The tyres are HUGE expensive high tech 205 x 16 KingPin remoulds...
Cheap as chips mate. Wanna swap it for a SWB Mod ???
