I have noticed that the thread re August playday cancellation has been locked !
I, myself run a forum, so am fully aware of how they work and what they are for.
Forums are a place for people to discuss topics and issues, providing the posts are not offensive, threatening, etc etc then a forum SHOULD give people the freedom of speech. If any thread has a post made that is not deemed acceptable then surely the author of the post should be approached and if necessary the post modified or removed, isn't that what forum admin and mods are for! It is not necessary in my opinion to close the whole thread.
The fact that the thread has been locked is concerning me, what is it saying?!?! well to me it is saying that the committee either do not want to hear the views of the members or do not care about the views of the members.

It is BADLRC related forum, we cant police it because anybody surfing the web could find it and sign up and use it, at the moment we have both BADLRC members and none members, so it dosent really matter. As long as they remember that we get the Landy dirty and keep the forum clean we will be OK.
Dose that answer the questions

that being said, as a forum admin yourself you should know how easy a thread can becomed spammed with name calling and alot of crap that diverts from the original idea of the topic in discussion. When a thread does become spammed then the best option of any forum admin is to lock the thread. Normal procedure would then be to filter through the posts and sift out the rubbish so that the thread could be re-opened.
Like I say sorry if this is the wrong thing to be posting but I've had many forums for a variety of interests and found that mod-ing one to the correct standards is very time consuming and tedious at the best of times.
I'll go read more on the club now, lol. I'm sure there's more than arguing goes on here.
